Lausitzer Klimacamp auch 2016!

Wunderbar! Auch in diesem Jahr wird es wieder ein Lausitzer Klima- und Energiecamp geben. Doch diesmal nicht im Sommer, sondern am Pfingstwochenende und in der Woche direkt davon. Damit liegt es zeitlich direkt an der Aktion von Ende Gelände und auch noch vor dem von Vattenfall anvisierten Zeitpunkt einer Entscheidung über den (eventuellen) Verkauf der Lausitzer Kohlesparte. So sagen wir im Aufruf des Campes bereits laut und deutlich:

Neue Investoren kaufen nicht nur einen Industriezweig ohne Zukunft, sondern auch den Widerstand vor Ort!

In diesem Sinn: Auf in die Lausitz!

A landscape scarred with craters as big as Berlin, Manchester, Paris and Washington. Vast troughs and grey black ridges higher than tower blocks, stretching as far as the eye can see. The continuous mechanical grind as huge metal teeth chew through the earth with devastating effectiveness. At first sight the scene has a startling resemblance to Canada’s tar sand moonscape. This is not Canada however. This is the Lausitz, in Germany, an area bordering with Poland, less than one hour south east of Berlin.

Kohle-Rekord bei Vattenfail

Energieriese Vattenfall gab gestern bekannt, seine Verstromung aus Braunkohle hat einen neuen Rekord erreicht. Damit untergräbt Vattenfall – durch einfaches Befolgen der aktuellen Marktlogik – direkt die Energiewende. Seit 1993 wurde nicht so viel Braunkohle in der Lausitz und Sachsen abgebaggert: über 60 Millionen Tonnen Braunkohle wurde allein 2012 abgegraben und verbrannt.
